Kids and Decisons

So I feel like I am at a turning point, I don't know why.... Every once and a while I feel like I need to decide everything right now!! I worry, stress, and lose sleep for about a week and then throw my hands up in the air. LOL silly I know, but it's me!

This is how it started!
- We were at Costco and a distant family member saw us and commented on how cute our kids were. Of course I proudly thanked her (haha), but then to my horror she said ' you should be done'. It made my head spin! And then my husband agreed. I bet my face was priceless.

The 'plan' was to have 4 kids. This was before we had any kids lol. Since then we have gone back and forth between 3 and 4. But 2 kids never crossed my mind. But the case for 2 is that they are expensive and we want to be able to let them be in things and try different activities. But... of course it's great to be in a bigger fam, have more friends and learn to sacrifice/get along.

-So as I've said before I am DYING to get my teaching degree. This will probably happen when my kids are bigger, less kids = less waiting. hmmmm....

-Oh and Kendall is DYINGx2 to start his own business. This will probably not happen til I am finished school. So we have a steady income for the first years he starts out. hmmmm....

- Oh and I got the worst ear infection while I was figuring this all out. Right when our Urgent Care closed. And I didn't want to be a drama queen and go to the ER. So I was up most of the night, until my Tylenol 3 kicked in (thank goodness for my mother). The next day my ear drum broke!! Yep infection/blood running down my ear, neck.... GROSS. Now I'm having problems hearing, hopefully when it heals I willbe back to normal. (just when I was gonna start swimming again).

SO THIS IS WHERE I THROW MY HANDS UP!!! It appears life will not bend to my will and I should not try to plan too far in advance.

* On a side note if anyone has advice on tatrum throwing 2 yr olds or 7 month old that wakse up every half hr for the first few hours of the night I am all ears!! (well one ear anyway!! lol. man I'm funny)

my advice...Heavenly Father knows your plan and purpose...ask Him over and over until you get a glimpse then go with it. As for the two year old, put your favorite picture of her at your bedside so in a quiet moment, you can remember how great she is when she isn't being "twopid" (my favorite term for two year old behavior). Good luck!

Meagan M said... you remember me at this time last year? Do you remember me saying I only wanted two kids because I couldn't handle more? Do you remember my 7 month old who woke up 45 minutes into bed time and who wouldn't go back to sleep until over an hour of crying frustration from both of us, do you remember my tantruming two year old? Honestly, I feel like you're living my gong show just a year later. So I don't have any good advice other then it gets better. That two year of mine grew into a wonderfully easy three year old, that 7 month figured out how to stay asleep (and became my BEST sleeper), and magically I feel like I want another baby or two(one day in the not too distant future).

So I agree with you...don't plan too much, because you'll drive yourself crazy. It will ALL work out. I promise. Winter sucks, ilness sucks, baby sleep sucks, and two years old are a bit "twopid" sometimes. But you've made it this give yourself 4 months and the weather will be beautiful, no one will be sick, you'll have a three year old, and a one year old, and your life will be AWESOME! Trust me.

Found your blog on my sister, Mindy's, page. For sleeping with your little one, I recommend buying "The Sleep Lady's Good Night, Sleep Tight." It is the best book ever! We have a 6month old and we just started to actually use it and it's already working miracles! She slept 9 hours straight last night! Good luck and hope that helps!

Ha - as for kids - Russ and I were not going to have any together.... I was on good birth control etc... well - now we have Nix, and another one on the way. If you are supposed to have another- you will, regardless of your plan... Heavenly Father has a plan - and we have leaned HEAVILY on this knowledge :) Love ya - Babies are so lucky to be coming to your house :)

I hear ya on the kid planning thing as lately we have talked about this too. But I am a huge believer in what's meant to happen will happen. There are no accidents, as much as this one was! haha.
And the tantrums are terrible, I know exactly how your feeling. I am going through this with the twins and it feels like dejavu from when Kyla was their age, and I remember it passing so that is what gets me through day to day. I remember calling Dustin at work in tears wondering what I was doing wrong! ha. This time it's easier of course because I know it's normal. It totally sucks in the moment though and you want to scream with them! good luck and know your not alone!! :)
